Nature of Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is a collaborative process between client and therapist that aims to address emotional, behavioral, and psychological concerns. Therapy may involve discussing personal experiences, thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in order to gain insight, develop coping strategies, and work toward personal goals.
While therapy can be beneficial, outcomes are not guaranteed. Progress depends on multiple factors, including client engagement, consistency, and individual circumstances.
Telehealth Services
All services at Nurture the Soul Counseling are provided via secure telehealth platforms. Telehealth involves the delivery of mental health services through video conferencing or other electronic means.
Potential benefits of telehealth include increased accessibility and convenience. Potential risks include technical difficulties, interruptions, or limitations to privacy. Clients are responsible for ensuring they are in a private, secure location during sessions.
Confidentiality
Information shared in therapy is confidential and protected by law. Confidential information will not be disclosed without written authorization except in the following circumstances, as required by law:
If there is a risk of serious harm to the client or others
Suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elderly person, or dependent adult
Court orders or other legal requirements
Additional limits to confidentiality may be discussed during treatment.
Electronic Health Records and Documentation
Nurture the Soul Counseling uses a secure electronic health record (EHR) system to maintain clinical records. Records may include session notes, treatment plans, and administrative information.
Some documentation processes may involve the use of technology-assisted tools within the EHR system. All documentation practices comply with applicable privacy and security standards.
Client Responsibilities
Clients are expected to:
Attend sessions on time and notify the practice of cancellations in accordance with the cancellation policy
Participate actively and honestly in the therapeutic process
Communicate questions or concerns regarding treatment
Risks and Benefits
