Why I Do This Work

For years, I’ve worked with women who carry the weight of being strong for everyone else, yet quietly feel exhausted, unseen, or disconnected inside. Too often, strength becomes armor — protecting you, but leaving you isolated.

I know what it means to carry that weight, and I believe therapy is not about “fixing what’s broken.” It’s about reclaiming the parts of yourself that were silenced, dismissed, or misunderstood — and choosing wholeness over survival.

Welcome to Nurture the Soul Counseling

I’m Sherolde Hackett, a licensed clinical social worker specializing in supporting women — especially BIPOC women — navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and complex life transitions. My mission is simple: to create a safe, affirming space where you can feel seen, valued, and supported as you heal and grow.

Beyond the Therapy Room

I believe healing doesn’t stop at the session’s end. Through writing, speaking, and community initiatives, I’m passionate about creating resources that empower women to nurture their mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

My Approach to Therapy

Healing is not one-size-fits-all. That’s why I take a client-centered, culturally affirming, trauma-informed approach that honors your unique story.

I integrate evidence-based modalities such as:

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for trauma healing

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to challenge negative thought patterns

  • Mindfulness practices for grounding and self-awareness

  • Solution-focused strategies to help you move forward with clarity

Together, we’ll build tools and strategies that meet you where you are, and guide you toward where you want to be.

Who I Work With

I work with adult women in New Jersey and Florida through secure, virtual therapy sessions. My clients are often high-achieving, responsible, and deeply resilient — yet they find themselves struggling with:

  • Anxiety, depression, or mood disorders

  • Trauma and painful family histories

  • Difficult or conditional relationships (including mother-daughter dynamics)

  • Burnout, overwhelm, and the pressure to always be “strong”

If this sounds familiar, you’re in the right place.

Let’s Take the Next Step Together

You don’t have to carry this alone. Whether you’re navigating the weight of trauma, the stress of daily life, or the complexity of relationships, therapy can be your space to rest, heal, and grow.
